Local teacher nominated for STEM award
A local teacher is up for an award that recognizes women who have shown to impact their students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Local Walmart is tops raising money for Riley
The Walmart store in Shelbyville has raised so much money for the Riley Hospital for Children, it got a new banner color to mark the occasion. “We were just awarded a platinum banner for $51,030 (raised) last year,” said staff member Dawn Gilles. Meltzer takes seat as Circuit Court judge
His first case Friday morning was an uncontested divorce, but no doubt many others await the new judge of the Shelby Circuit Court. Trent Meltzer has taken his seat on the bench of the Circuit Court following his appointment by Gov. Eric Holcomb last week. He was sworn in by his predecessor. Bob Claxton was recently inducted into the Franklin Community High School Alumni Hall of Fame along with Dr. Alva Neal, Nancy Ann Phares Brown Poynter and Karen Wenning Stellick.
