Waldron honors James in commencement ceremony
Jacob James’ presence was certainly felt during Waldron High School’s commencement ceremony. The senior, who passed away in a car accident in October, was very much a point of focus as 30 graduates, including James, received their diplomas. James’ family was given his diploma along with the rest of his classmates in a ceremony that took place on Waldron’s soccer field. Triton Central graduates leave respected by community

Guests in attendance fanned themselves with programs, and graduates entered on the track. It was not what any of the seniors imagined their graduation being. All 5 Shelby County commencements to be outdoors

Hamblen named president of state FFA

Hamblen, a 2020 Shelbyville High School graduate, was one of seven chosen to move into the FFA leadership house for this year. SC Senior Services receives Duke Energy donation
Buffy Powers, coordinator of volunteer and ancillary services at Shelby County Senior Services, accepts a donation from Duke Energy on Friday. Duke Energy donated 85 storm kits for distribution to seniors in Shelby County who are served by the organization. The kits included a flashlight, first aid kit, warming blanket, waterproof bag and whistle. The kits were supplied as part of Duke’s storm preparedness efforts.
