Arts For Learning mural takes on deeper meaning
It started out like any other project for Christi Zeibarth. But it turned into something much more impactful in light of COVID-19. The former longtime teacher was commissioned pre-pandemic to produce a 32-foot mural at Coulston Elementary inspired by students’ sketches as part of the Arts For Learning program. BRCF names Jones as executive director
Jones previously worked as the Blue River Community Foundation program officer the previous two years after working for the City of Shelbyville as the Street Commissioner from 2012 to 2018. She worked for the City for a total of 15 years. A graduate of Waldron High School and Indiana Wesleyan University, she has always worked in Shelby County. Southwestern student finishes first in Braille Challenge
Southwestern Elementary student Emma Stamper finished first place in the apprentice division of the Braille Institute’s Braille Challenge.
The Braille Institute, a network of schools across the country, was founded in 1919 by J. Robert Atkinson in order to increase the braille literacy rate.

Morristown woman celebrates 105th birthday
Morristown resident Helena M. Hardin said the secret to a long, happy life is in one’s genes. And she should know – she’ll be celebrating her 105th birthday on Tuesday. “I got good genes, I guess,” she said. Although she can’t have a birthday party because of COVID-19 concerns, her family will come by her house to say hello, Hardin said.
